From a strategic perspective, the paper presents a forward-looking thinking supported by interdisciplinary of modern logistics, estuary and coasty, environment and ecology, economic management, and mathematical statistics. It leads to a reasonable solution to space expansion by reclamation. Construction of new deep-water terminal is the best usage of land resources and can strengthen the status of Shanghai City as an international shipping center, thus supporting the preparation and strategic decision of future urban development of Shanghai City.

Abstract:

Intelligent manufacturing is the focus for building China into a manufacturing power. Intelligent manufacturing is a general concept under continuous development. In this paper, the intension of intelligent manufacturing is put forward. Intelligent manufacturing is categorized into three basic paradigms: digital manufacturing, smart manufacturing, and new-generation intelligent manufacturing. It is proposed that China should push forward the intelligent transformation of its manufacturing industry by adopting a technology roadmap of “parallel promotion and integrated development”. The strategic objectives, strategic guidelines, and development paths for the future development of intelligent manufacturing in China are put forward. Then some preliminary suggestions, in terms of mechanism guarantee and policies in China, including strengthening and implementing the intelligent manufacturing promotion mechanism, increasing fiscal and financial support, and deepening international exchanges and cooperation are proposed.

Abstract:

Marine transportation technology is the indispensable element requried for the marine exploration, ocean development, ocean resources management and maintaining China's maritime rights and interests. This paper identifies China's strategic needs for the the development of the marine transportation engineering capabilities and technology. At the same time, it also provides a in-depth analysis of the domestic and international development situation to map out the developmental direction and trends of future marine transportation engineering and technology in terms of the strategic positions, goals, strategic tasks and key areas of development for marine transportation equipment in China. Finally, this paper puts forward some policy measures and advice for the relevant departments of the industry to consider.
